Saw that post about the Castellows who will probably blow up before I can get to see them live and it reminded me of the Shankman Twins. Does anyone know whatever happened to them? I was a fan but it seems they fell off the face of the earth after 2010.

I remember them from the BG festivals in So. Ca. They were teenagers at the time. Seeing as how I've been gone from there over twenty years now, I suspect they're all grown up by now & life gets in the way of hanging out at BG festivals.

I kinda figured that too.  I just remember Ralph Stanley calling them the future of bluegrass and they were really good.

My wife and I still enjoy listening to one of their CD's. Very talented young ladies.

What's the average life-span of a band?

I heard a rumor about why, but until I'm able to confirm it, I'll keep it to myself.

Until then I can only hope they are doing well.  Perhaps living the quiet life raising families.

Well the Rolling Stones maintained its 3 years - then you run out of new material.......

That figures.

The Seldom Scene is still going, although none are original members.
