To the mods and members:

Received a couple of emails referring to classified ads I have on BHO.

From a "lindawilliam21221@gmail.com"

Here's the text of the email:
==========
I came across your ad and i have full interest,I'll like to know the following questions regarding the Ad. How much is your final asking price? In your opinion, what sort of condition is it?Any more available photo? You can reply back to me direct to my contact lindawilliam21221 (at) gmail dot c o m. Hope to read from you soon.
==========

Text was identical in both emails.

Beware!

Thanks for the note. 99% of gmail or other accounts ending in a 3 digit or more sequence of numbers are scam bots attached to scamming centers. If you respond back youll get AI or a live person to steal your money.

Also BOLO for Lohmann Jörn <lohmannj230@gmail.com> Same kind of messages. Payment will be (fake) certified check, my agent will arrange shipping, can't meet, same old stuff. Hard to believe this scam still works. I doubt these folks ever use the same names or accounts twice, but the scam remains the same.
1. Look at their BHO history
2. Google them to see if they are real
3. See if they can "talk banjo"
4. Connect with call or video
No. 2 is by no means that solid of a strategy. Some of these scammers are hijacking accounts or stealing identities. Big problem on Facebook. Ned Luberecki has had several fake accounts established in his name.

When in doubt whether someone is a spammer or not, check my list of spammers locked out here: banjohangout.org/topic/389395

This one was locked out early this morning. Seems like they sign on in the middle of the night and gather a bunch of information from ads and then get busy.

Sherry, Can't you just add spammer names to your original post (<https://www.banjohangout.org/topic/389395/1>)? I believe that an original poster can always edit their posting.

That's what I'm doing:  adding names to the list as I lock spammers out.    I've added a couple of names the last few days.

They're everywhere! I've had them make a run at me while selling a crossbow and a 60 year old Ludwig drum. This guy's language reeks of a spammer. Thanks, Sherry, and the others who police this trash.
