I have completed several acoustic guitar projects, however this is my first attempt at a banjo. I decided to build an open-back with dowel stick neck configuration, just tension hoop with shoe lug and hook for the head. I attached a couple photos, and I welcome your comments/suggestions. Rim is Maple, wetted and formed after heating with my acoustic side blanket, neck is a Mahogany variety and fingerboard is rosewood. Lots still to do, but enjoyable as I move along on the project.

Yesterday and today I completed some fret-work, using Narrow/Medium (StewMac). I still have to level and dress the frets, and to also set the last ones near the rim/neck area, I had left those out so a final fit with rim and tension hoop, as more neck material may have to be trimmed. Since last post I also fitted an ebony nut, and have to cut slots and finish that area also.
