Wrote RK, 2 times, on their own platform, on the web page to contact them with Questions etc. No answer. Hmmm...just trying to find out what gauge and brand strings come stock on the RK-20 Songster. They certainly are not Deering as far as CS goes. Anyone have a link? I am thinking of just going with Medium/ Lights if it is not available.

In this Reddit discussion from 2 years ago, a writer posts that Recording King had just told him: "Almost all of our banjos come with D'Addario EJ60 banjo strings."  Those are 9-10-13-20-9.    Lighter than strings on new Gold Tone and Deering banjos.  Good choice for beginners. Easy on the fingers.

Later on you might want to bump up the first, second and fifth strings by one number. And maybe try a 22 on fourth.  Deering ships with their own lights: 10-11-13-21-10

Not defending RKs inattention to your attempted contact but there is a lot of information known by the members on this site and you might want to post your questions here first. Ken is right regarding RK strings. I bought a new RKR-36 about six months ago and the Dadario strings he referred to is what they wear. I go between them and the EJ60+ which is a 9.5 on the outside as well.

It's a shame but I notice more and more websites that have "contact us" or the like and then never answer back !!!

Yes! Exactly, I just do not understand why you would not answer a "customer" in the age of, EMail and Not even a Stamp required.  Oh Well RK is off my plate for many things at this point.
