Hi, All...
So, we have an 1881 Fairbanks & Cole (Serial number 1830) that is in need of restoration, and would like to get an idea of its value pre- and post- restoration if anyone can assist...

Are you planning to repair or restore it? It probably originally had an ivory tailpiece and possibly ivory tuning pegs.
What do you plan to do about the peghead overlay? The quality of your work will reflect on the value.

Honestly, I would be willing to sell to someone who wants to do the restoration.  I know it is a piece of history!

I would guess, as is, you could get $200-$300, all fixed up maybe $600-$700
