Reminds me of a line that i think is accurate..

A Life lived in Success...
Is not the same ..as..
A Life lived with purpose...

Agree totally! A purpose driven life, to me, is much more meaningful. Success and significance, to me, is not determined by monetary wealth.

Philosophy isn't my forte, but I don't see it as either/or.  I suspect whoever coined the bit of wisdom in the OP wanted [expected?] the reader to associate money with success ...... and sadly (?) for many that's probably the default position.  I suppose the nature of the purpose in one's life matters, too.   But I do agree, they're not the same.

There are purposes, and then there are purposes. I don't find it particularly admirable if your purpose is to benefit yourself by screwing everyone who comes in contact with you. In the last few years, I've been amazed to realize how many people seem to admire that kind of purposeful behavior.

Wayne ......  I think that is sort of distorting what most people view as a purpose driven life ..... at least in my way of thinking.  I would call that more greed driven.
