Hey guys...I know this topic has come up in the past, but does anyone know where I could find one of those clear plastic arm rest covers? I know someone, or a few, used to make them but ceased operations. I just got my parts back from the platers. I had them copper plated and even tho he clear coated them, he said that the clear coat and plating would eventually wear off. And the arm rest is engraved also so i don't want to cover it up. I know I could cut a piece of sock and put it on my arm but don't want to really do that. Any help would be appreciated.
TIA, Tim
Could you wrap the armrest in something like Saran Wrap? It's clear, easy to handle and clings to itself. Just a thought. I have NOT tried to do this, just sounded like it might work.
I use a wrist guard or a sock top. I understand you don't want to do that, but until you find what you're looking for.... might save some tarnishing of your new armrest.
I respect your plan, but I would also suggest you play your instrument as it is for a few years & keep a close eye on the wear, so it could be touched up. The engraving is a nice touch, a showcase detail, & is already protected. Clearcoat finishes are relatively tough, & I can't see getting into the extra steps of protecting the protection.
