Last week, I asked a question on the forum as to where I might find a fifth string tuner button for my Gold Star archtop. Bob Smakula contacted me and said he had one. When I asked how to go about paying for it, Bob said that because the button was such a small and inexpensive item, it wasn't worth the paperwork and he would just send it to me. He said that if I wanted to pay him for it, I could just make a donation to a homeless pet shelter.
So: much thanks to Bob Smakula. Everybody knows Bob is a banjo and repair guru, but he is also a nice guy. And he loves animals, too!
