The TOTW for 9/22/2023 is an Irish Reel, The Mountain Road, composed in 1922 by Sligo fiddler Michael Gorman (1895-1970). It was originally a six-part piece. Here is sheet music and a mp3 of the original:

I know it only as a two-part piece. I first heard it, if I remember right, in Santa Cruz in the early 90s at a concert by fiddler Kevin Burke's band "Open House."
Here's the entry about The Mountain Road from The Traditional Tune Archive:

There are dozens and dozens of versions with various instruments on YouTube.
Here is a great CH version on a mountain-style banjo by BHO member, Noah Cline:

Here's my CH (over the 14th fret) version in D tuning from a few years ago:

John D
Another nice tune choice, John, with a pleasing title and two good banjo versions to learn from. After listening to the original fiddler, Michael Gorman, I used two of his parts and the B part I got from you and Noah. Here's a direct link to the Traditional Tune Archive page: The Mountain Road (1).
