Dear banjo friends,
I am purchasing a 2009 Gibson RB75 VL, primarily because it came up for the right price and I'd missed two or three 97/98 ones with prices creeping up. I wondered if any of you own one and have any comments on set up,especially what you find helps get the best tone. It has the Crowe ring and is all original. I'm not particularly interested or taken in by it being one of 15 made or the rhetoric of vintage lacquer other than not having too heavy a lacquer coat seems sensible anyway ( I know some late Gibsons had a heavy finish). I understand that late models can be very hit and miss etc so looking for actual lived experience by any other owners/caretakers of these lovely beasts! Thank you. Tim
