I think that'd be a swell idea. You should definitely approach them. Tell them that the tenor provided excellente compliments to the snare drums.
Hey Jack. I was just looking at some vintage 4 strings. Man, back in the 20s and 30s even earlier those guys made some huge leaps and bounds in banjo construction. Not only in outward appearance but have you seen some of the tone ring shapes. They were all vying for first in looks and volume.Very impressive craftsmanship.
This is not the only forum with a small number of participants. I think the "theory" forum gets even less participation. We are a limited group, but there are several notable contributors.
I rather like the tune-of-the- month idea, although due to a lack of recording equipment I never submitted any performances (and can't now due to health issues).
Eddy Davis is no longer with us, and I believe that that has a bit to do with the current lack of new posts. Perhaps Omeboy, Don Lewers, and a few others might be recruited for "TOTM" ideas, or other encouragement.
For now, I'm sort of in the same boat George is in. My new computer lacks the sound-board needed to record. I might get one installed if the spirit moves me. There are some things I would like to record before I bite the big one. (It was a lot more fun to be in my Twenties in the Seventies than to be in my Seventies in the Twenties.)
