This is about as "other" as it gets. This is more like a one man play than a music video. Honestly, it took me a minute or two to decide if I wanted to keep listening. By 4 minutes I was drawn in, and by the end it was one of my favorites. 4 months on YouTube with 11 million views. This link is "Hi Ren" by Ren (Ren Gill) youtu.be/s_nc1IVoMxc

I don't either. Neither does Ren. Neither does this video.

I can appreciate that. Not really playlist material. Not really even a song. more like a one man play. Certainly not commercial.

And I thought the nod to Twilight Zone (the orderly) was a nice touch.
I'm a little overwhelmed by his creativity. It's not a genre I've ever heard. They're calling it "Bardcore." Ren had Lyme disease that was undiagnosed for years. Instead, he was being treated for psychosis. He finally got a correct diagnosis, and is currently being treated for the actual problem.
Ah, I can relate. I had multiple misdiagnoses as well: lupus, fibromyalgia, Parkinson's, chronic fatigue, MS - you name it, they threw it at me in an effort to categorize my symptoms. Each diagnosis was devastating - and wrong, with life-altering effects.
Wishing him all the good things this world has to offer.
I can fully understand that somebody wouldn't like to listen to Ren's music. It isn't easy listening. His lyrics are both mature and juvenile at the same time and many people above 30 years of age won't be able to relate to them. But if a person doesn't see the outstanding creativity in his compositions and his virtuouso playing/singing/rapping, well, then that's that.
