I had the opportunity to jam with the Henhouse Prowlers last night. They are in Cleveland County NC doing a school educational series, and wanted to jam with local musicians. Several buddies and I spent about 3 hours on a beautiful front porch at the Hunt House in Lattimore NC playing and talking to these well-seasoned (and well-traveled) guys. It was a great time! If you have not heard of them, give them a lookup on YouTube. Thanks to Marybeth Martin, Director of the Scruggs Center, for the invite! Great time had by all.

Henhouse Prowlers are some of the kindest people I've ever met. They are so incredibly wholesome and just a pleasure to be around. Genuinely good people of the highest degree. When I was organizing a local bluegrass festival, our headliner dropped out due to illness at the last minute and they filled the slot for the same fee (a significant "donation" of time and revenue).

Not only are they top notch musicians, the work they do for various charity and non-profits is admirable. They work with the US State Department and travel around the world as part of a cultural exchange program we have with developing countries and allies.

I've jammed with them a couple of times here in southern Illinois. I've chatted and swiped tunes with Ben also. They are fun to see perform and equally fun to jam with. Great folks!
