Here it is one more time. A big thanks to Juan Teruel from Spain for doing most of the heavy lifting in this tab. I did a few tricks with the 4th string and put in a guitar backup as I remember...Jack

Ha! There aren't many who can play this wonderful beast by Bill Keith...Sherry, spring is coming....Yay....Jack
Originally posted by TexasbanjoBeautiful song. I first learned to play it back when I was playing clarinet in high school. Much easier to play on the clarinet.
I never could make those long 4 to 5 fret reaches, but other than that.... could pretty well navigate the song.
This is how Nola sounded more than 100 years ago, played by the composer Felix Arndt: https://youtu.be/vg18fo-EIj0

Sounds like they got the wrong speed on when they played the recording. I don't think anyone could play that fast.
Hi Sherry,
That's not an uncommon speed for a barrelhouse, stride or ragtime piano player. Fats Waller, Art Tatum and others played at that speed and some today still do. I think true Ragtime is played at a stately tempo while Barrelhouse is played much faster. Nola is not really considered a ragtime song more like a novelty barrelhouse style...Jack

That recording is very fast, 84rpm compared to what it should be: 78rpm.
What about setting the youtube speed to 0.75 rpms....Jack

OK!
Originally posted by janolovsetting the speed to 0.75 would be to slow. I think 0.92 would be better but I don't think that is possible to set?
