Do you mean you have the HMTL source code for the webpage? Or you have the URL to the thread that no longer works?

If it's the latter, I'm pretty sure you can replace /topic/ with /archive/ and it should work.

The easiest way to do what you're wanting to do is to find one of the many free online "HTML to PDF Converters" (google that) and you can convert your html doc (even one on your local hard drive, it has an address too) to a pdf file which you can post to any forum thread.

If you are on windows you should be able to select PDF from the printer menu and 'print' to a file rather than a printer.

Faster, better and easier way to do it than what I suggested (if that option is available in your print menu).

PDF works well, but a PDF file isn't functionally different than your HTML file. It could be posted as a file for reference here, but you'll get minimal engagement using that method because most people aren't likely to download it, let alone respond.

Another option, depending on the length of the thread and your motivation level, is to open the HTML file in Firefox/Chrome/Edge, and then copy-paste the responses into a text document. Basically creating a transcript of the previous thread. Then you could copy the transcript into a new post here. The advantage of that is it would create a new active forum thread that people could read and continue discussing.

Another alternative, is within that HTML file you can find the original URL address to the thread. Using that, you can find the archived URL of the actual thread. All you really need is the "topic number". Every thread on BHO has a topic number, you can see it in the address bar. For example, this is topic #389533. Once you have the topic number, you can use my previous guidance to get the archived URL and post it to a new thread here.

Why not just find the archived thread then link to it?

Yes I thought of searching for it.

I thought there might be an easy way  to do it with the file.

Thanks everyone  for the help.

O.D. The HTML file will contain the old URL link address.
