That’s the question. Have you bought oops I mean adopted a vehicle lately?

msn.com/en-us/money/companies/...i=BBnb7Kz

Aside from the problems this poor chap encountered the terms used by the boutique vehicle
manufacturer makes me barf. Adopter! give me a break. So what are the “adoption” rules and fees. Will the manufacturer call CPS oops I mean Auto Protection Services APS if you miss-treat or use your auto for other than it’s intended purpose?

Different definition. An Early Adopter is someone who is a risk taker and purchases a new product before the general public starts buying them. We just switched from out outdoor wood boiler to an outdoor pellet boiler. This is a new product from the same company that made our wood boiler, so we are early adopters of that. My brother was an early adopter for a Saturn. I was an early adopter for some computer systems, now I'm more of a tech Luddite.

On a side note, I went through a similar experience with Chrysler when I purchased my PT Cruiser. I've since found out that PT stands for Piece of Trash. The company did not stand behind any of the problems I had with that car.

RE: adopting a vehicle, my wife will only sell her old cars to good homes. I don't get it, but it is important to her and she is important to me.

Don’t get me started on all the new terms that seem to be permeating our vocabulary as of late.
Cloud Computing what a misnomer. Grumpy old man alert proceed at your own risk.

I guess I’ve been something of an early adopter for most of my 77 years. I had the first personal computer in the county back in ‘76 or ‘77, my first Blackberry in the early 2000s, and my ham rig is a state-of-the-art software defined radio. The missus’ car is an EV, and mine a Jeep PHEV. My guns are all old-style, though.

Sort of like:

Q.: How do you know if someone's pet is a "rescue dog"?

A.: They'll tell you.

I like how they are "rescue" or "designer" dogs. They used to be called mutts, and they were free, or close to free. I also like the term "forever home". There was a dog on this morning's news that was looking for it's 4th forever home. I guess forever wasn't very long for the first 3.

One of my old classmates in college, who happened to be a two time All-American baseball player recently got attacked by his rescue dog ..... a Pitt Bull ........ that he and his wife have owned now for a year and a half.  The dog suddenly turned on him and tore up his leg and both arms before he could get him in his pen.  He was in the hospital about a week and now is in rehab facility.  Dog was put down.

Wow, what a mess. I hope your friend recovers well.

At the risk of attracting someone's ire, I have to say I'd never get a pit bull. The name says it - bred for the fighting pits, bred to take pain, bred to kill, tenacious. Not the breed of dog I'd "rescue".

We have a pair of "rescue" cats (purchased at PetSmart here in Kingston, from the Quinte Humane Society in Belleville). They're holy terrors who get their claws into everything. We have a chesterfield which we purchased in '79 shortly after our wedding. It was still in fair shape. They finally managed to wreck it. After our angel of a cat, Shelby (a.k.a. Schlubby), these two are a real wake-up call.

(BTW, I took my previous comment from someone's saying: "How can you tell if someone's vegan. They'll tell you.")

Paul .... my brother got as Pitt Bull from Texas in the 70's before they became a popular breed.  This dog, from the timer he was a pup was never "right", as you could never play with it like other pups.  It had zero bite control.  If your hand was in the way of something he wanted it was going to get a full bite.  After it was grown, I would not be around it unless it was in his pen.  Ultimately it bit my bother's father-in-law and he gave the dog away.  I have no idea who would have wanted it.

I would not own a Pitt Bull under any circumstance.  The wife of my friend said that until it attacked her husband, it was the sweetest dog they had ever owned.  Rescue dogs are fine, but before rescuing, it possible, you should check their history.  Way too many have a not so great past.
