It is really easy to post the pictures on this forum page. Scroll down to the attachments box and you will see the pictures in your media file. Thanks Derrick. I think your correct but I've no idea what could have happened to cause that sort of damage to the peghead.

Yes they are original. Mother of pearl or sometimes bone.

No would have originally been fitted with friction tuners/pegs. From the newest photo it certainly looks to me to have had a new fingerboard. It also may have been (smooth arm) fretless. I'd guess it's around 1890.
