Going to put a goatskin head on a tack head banjo. Raining for days, wonder do I need to wait for sunny weather so that it dries correctly? Thanks, appreciate your input.

Non expert here. I've stretched a few and even turned a hair dryer on one to tighten it up at a muggy festival. (not recommending this, just sayin'.)

I would guess that stretching it on a humid day would only affect the dry time, and it will only be at its tightest in low humidity.

Agree with Steve. Even when 'dried' on a dry day, the skin will not be stable (come another humid day it will stretch). Will not matter if you install on a humid week. Just acknowledge if you are not satisfied with the result, you may be more satisfied when the weather is drier, as the head will dry out further (at least temporarily)

I would doubt a humid day would louse up instalation. Way back when, factories were churning out banjos almost every day, rain or shine. snow or sleet.
