I always thought "shine" was preferred in your area. I'd really be disappointed to learn otherwise.
Different strokes for different folks.
Fixate on the girl with the biggest,,,,eyes?
Pretend you're John Duffey & don't give a hoot?
Seriously, though, whatever works for you.

I use CBD quite often. I really think it helps me with anxiety and inflammation the most. I just don’t think the affects are so profound as to help with stage fright. I think it helps with the anxiety in the background of the mind, if you know what I mean. But I may be wrong. Won’t hurt to try. It is pretty established as safe.

Some states are "conditionally legal", which is different than "fully legal"...

Tennessee is "conditionally legal" -
CBD oil exceeding 0.9% THC legal with medical cannabis license; very restrictive list of qualifying conditions

I'm non-responsive, I suppose, but have you tried a beta blocker like Metoprolol? It stops your heart from racing.
"A 2016 survey of more than 5,000 classical musicians revealed that 72 percent use or had used beta blockers in their lives, up from only about 30 percent in 1987. But few will readily admit it. For decades now, audition finalists have been operating under the influence, continuing the habit for professional orchestras for high-stakes performances. These drugs slow the heart and dull one’s senses enough to stop a tremor or catch those abdominal butterflies. Users can achieve years of mindfulness practice in just an hour. And few experience any side effects or complications."

Looks like that quote is from this article -

That would involve consuming several whiskey sours.
OldNavyGuy, Hemp derived CBD with no THC is fully legal in every state. The conditions have to do with the presence and percentages of THC. Also cannabis derived CBD. In Tennessee, as you mentioned it is legal if the THC content is below .9%. Above .9% you have to have a medical card.
CBD only is fine everywhere.

Never stated CBD from hemp wasn't legal...simply included a clarifying resource of the definition of "legal"...as it pertains to CBD.

"Effortless Mastery," by Kenny Werner, a jazz pianist. A fundamental understanding of what is happening, and how musicians can change. No self-help little tricks.
Such a valuable book, and not just for people with stage fright (never a problem for me). Bill Keith recommended it at a Joe Val Festival workshop many years ago - a few months after I had seen Kenny Werner at the Blue Note in Greenwich Village, where he was indeed both effortless and masterful. I still pick it up from time to time.
when I played in a group I used to take ativan most nights.....I have had ongoing anxiety since I came home from Vietnam. It worked well but some might say it's too strong. I have taken beta blockers for years due to high blood pressure and I have to say that it didn't work for me for anxiety. It did work to lower my blood pressure. A couple of years ago I was misdiagnosed as having dementia. It turned out to be a combination of all the different meds I was on. I stopped about 4-5 meds, ativan was one, but I would only take it once in a while. I started using "Delta 8" gummies. This, like CBD, is legal. It has helped immensely with anxiety. I have to say I don't feel anything from it but it calms me down. I do have a friend that says he gets high from it but like I said I don't feel anything.
I wouldnt be concerned too much anymore with mary jane/thc being illegal. Municipalities rarely put meth users in jail anymore because there is no room and its cruel. Instead they go after pushers, dealers and opioid pharmaceudical companies as they should. Most DAs dont push on desperate people that are addicted or seek help for pain and certainly dont care about home use of thc when they have harder drug issues.
But its easier to get a guaranteed cannabis pill supply or cbd above the thc fed limit by finding a doctor or psychiatrist that specializes in treating anxiety disorder. It will help your anxiety, pain, and mellow you out. Stoners rarely get thier mellow harshed.

Yeah, me too. Now that I am playing gigs with a small band, I get wound up until the first song starts, then I relax and enjoy myself.
I found the best way to get rid of stage fright was to play in front of people more often. I used to go to a festival early, get in jams off and on all day long and into the night. The more audience, the better. That way, when you get on stage, you're used to seeing people sitting around listening and enjoying your music. Don't know if it would work for you, but you might try and see.
Once you play in front of 10+ thousand people (Union Grove, 1976), doing it in front of anything less is a cinch. My 2 boys played for the first time in front of 2-3000 people, and were very nervous, but performed fine. Like Sherry said, just do it as much as possible, the novelty wears off. More worrying is whether the freaking sound guy will stay the hell off the board or if the promoter is going to have the check ready.
i havent played in front of a crowd in a while, but being well rehearsed and with the
thought in my head that almost everybody in the audience wont hear a simple mistake anyway
i never had any trouble.
CBD thats legal in all 50 states , my family Doctor says its legal because it doesnt do
anything..kinda like swallowing a tsp. of Olive oil.the Placebo effect is very strong on
some people not so much on me, Ive downed an entire bottle of CBD oil and didnt
notice anything, saim with other homeopathic "meds" like Calms Forte, they work
if you believe they will work as opposed to the medicine your Dr. prescribes
Best wishes
