I have an Aria Tenor Banjo neck that I would like to get shed of! The neck has had a professional repair at the headstock. Comes with a set of Grover Tuners installed. I purchased this from Banjo Warehouse and wanted the pot for a lightweight project banjo. I know it's not worth a lot but Could someone tell me what a good/fair asking price for this neck would be?
There probably isn't much demand for Asian tenor banjo necks, and the headstock repair will devalue it significantly, even if it was skillfully done. I would suggest "not very much."
Here are some comparison prices from the classifieds:
There are ads for a style 0 [plain model] Gibson neck for $80, some Slingerland necks for $25 and $30 apiece. One seller just gave away several Vega necks for the cost of shipping.
The only tenor neck I see with a higher asking price is a Kel Kroyden [made by Gibson in the 1930's] for $250.
A repaired Aria neck would bring only a fraction of that.
The tuners might bring as much as the neck if you were to try to sell them separately.
