Hi in need a 15” vellum/calf skin replacement. Does anyone know of a supplier in the UK as the previous supplier does look like they are trading anymore.
I bought a couple of 16 inch skins from Hobgoblin. They were on the thick side but I sanded the one I used down to make it more usable.
Wiliam Cowley in Newport Pagnell. If it's a calf skin for a vintage banjo you're after their know-how, quality and customer service is second to none. They have a range of thicknesses and treatments, will cut to any size a customer needs and will specify the overlap required. I've purchased from them, including a 14" skin for a 13" head a couple of months ago and was 100% happy. They mail their vellums rolled in very robust packing so you would have no worries about damage in transit.

Eagle Music and Brown Dog Banjos sell them. I used Clifford Essex before they shut, and I don't know how they compare though. It's interesting to see that William Cowley do them.
