Here in beautiful west-central Man-ee-toe-bah we're just coming out of a cold snap... prognostications/guesses/??? are for close to thawing/freezing in the next few days. Tuesday through Thursday we were at or below freezing all week. Yesterday the clouds drifted away, the sun came out and today it's at 64, sunny and nice. Enough of this winter for us!!! (not that Mother nature will listen to me or care what I want).
Last night was -42c with the wind. It physically stings your face and freezes your nose shut.
Felt bad the dog had to go out every few hours
A much more comfortable -24c at high noon today lol and a summery -3c announced tomorrow.
This weather is crazy
Today was damn cold and below zero this morning. Didn’t feel like fishing but was looking to check out ice conditions on da lake in areas I want to fish in da next week or two. Da Polaris snow machine fired right up and I put on about 35 miles on Lake Michigan checking depths and ice/snow conditions. Lots of areas of glare ice and thought I was gonna melt my slides on da snow machine!!! Thank god for carbides that kept me straight and narrow!!! Measured everything from 3 inches to 22 inches of ice. Worst ice conditions I’ve seen in my life this time of year !!! Hardly any snow too, which I’m ok with other than the ice is tough travel and better have cleats on yer boots to keep you from fallin on yer arse !!! Fishin has been poor at best this year and I intend to change that in da next few weeks!!! Say Ya to da U.P. eh!!!
