I've gotten two emails this week regarding my ad for block rims - both of which were from Chinese "users" (quotations because I suspect they're bots). Has anyone else been getting these?
It's irritating because I don't see the name their email is registered with until after I waste my time responding. I don't want to NOT respond because they are a potential customer, but after I waste my time writing an appropriate response, then they respond with a very poorly-grammar email that is hardly readable, and their name is displayed as something obviously Chinese.
One of the users names is "Kim Hu". Their BHO username is "ozumba231", and their email is "osczcarzwiliki@gmail.com".
The other users name is "Yi Xu". Their BHO username is "cream231", and their email is "freemanbdb@gmail.com".
Its a numbers game.
When I was in high school, a friend of mine used to print up business cards with his first name, his number, and his specialty with women...use your imagination.
He handed these cards to every young woman he saw in shopping malls, events ... whatever. Always with a smile and saying "Just think about it"
I told him , surely that doesnt work?. He said, About once every thousand cards. And i can print 10000 cards for 50 bucks.
I told that story once to a teenager who was complaining about getting dates. I ended with, your old man probably has left over cards but youd have to change the phone number!
His old man, my friend, saw the circle of life that day...and suddenly didnt like his high school idea anymore.
Scam the scammers. We need a light web to get scammers names and addresses for a little justice.
Both accounts have been locked. Evidently the spammers were busy writing PMs or e-mails to members before we got to them.
Sorry for the irritation, but we do the best we can to catch them quickly.
Any time you get something that you think is a scam, please use the administrative report to let us know about it. We'll check it out and take care of the problem.
Number game.
I had a good friend. Now passed some years. Navy boy. Short. Goofy looking. Funny as all heck. He used to walk into crowded bars off base and go up to each and every girl in it and say “ Hi, I’m Ge—ge, want to leave with me and ____” . Not kidding. He would do this until someone said yes. If the bar was crowded enough, he would never leave alone. If he he didn’t get a yes in one bar, he would leave us and head right to the next bar. Got into a few scraps, but in the end, he never left alone.
Phishing scams are the exact same principle. Enough emails, enough websites, they are going to reel someone in.
