Some high-brows might want to delete me for this, but hey, it’s all music.  Oh, this is For/Fur Elise, wherever she may be.  laugh

Very nice! Actually I'm not surprised that it works that well on guitar. Here's a spare u-umlaut I have lying around for you to use in the description of the youtube video: ü. It hurts to read it as "fur Elise"... cheeky

Haha,,, I couldn't find a way to get the umlaut on there.  Mr. Mueller, my long-suffering high school German teacher, would be shaking his head....

Given that his grandfather or great-grandfather was nearly certainly named Müller, methinks he would be shaking from shaky ground.

If we're truly on the search of heresy, here's my favourite Japanese ska cover of "Ode to Joy": youtube.com/watch?v=Xdysi2p2ZPI

Haha, as Kevin pointed out, you can replace any umlaut by the base vowel followed by an "e". My name is originally spelled with an ö as well but since Americans have a habit of silently dropping the two dots from the umlauts, I usually spell them out as vowel+e. In fact the two dots originated from printers' shorthand for the letter "e" after another vowel. Paper was valuable.
