I was just contacted by a representative from a symphonic orchestra in Connecticut looking for a tenor banjoist for a performance of "Rhapsody in Blue" in March. Between my day teaching gig & already booked items, I'm not available but it's a great opportunity for some tenor player out there. I've played the part before (pretty sure it's the Grofe arrangement for Whiteman's band with Mike Pingatore) and it's not as difficult as some might think - definitely easier than some theatrical show scores I've encountered.
