Was there a Gold plated-not engraved Scruggs model issued by gibson ?

There was. It was the “Golden Deluxe” model.

It seems that those are few and far between, but do come up for sale occasionally.

I haven’t seen a gold plated Scruggs model that is not engraved.I own a Scruggs Golden Deluxe that is engraved.

Here's an ad for a gold, non-engraved Scruggs model at Fret Mill.

Whether it came from the Gibson factory that way is unknown. If you want to spend the money, it's easy to get any banjo gold plated. A lot of owners of Scruggs models send out just the tone ring to get it gold plated, like Earl's tone ring.

As with Gibson, anything is possible.

Oh ya…I bought a Golden Deluxe in the year 2000 after I joined the navy, with my sign on bonus.

I’ve toyed with the idea of selling it, as I just don’t play it enough…and never made it to professional status like I had always dreamed.
