I think it is Larry that is now mentioned as the leader of the group who appear often at The Pickin In The Pasture fest in Lodi NY which we attend . The banjo players seem to vary but there was one young lad who just knocked me out w/ his staccato thumb & forefinger style quite a few yrs ago ! The group is not as slick as some but definitely deliver the "mountain" sound IMO somewhat like the early Stanleys .

There is a Matt Efaw, a very good flatpicker , has his own bluegrass band call themselves RFD.
They just played at the Ramada Inn Beaver Falls, the re-located Butler (Pennsylvania) Days Inn January Ice Jam last month.
I wonder if it's any kin.
