Hi there, I’ve been looking to build a fretless mountain banjo based on the foxfire plans as a valentine’s day gift to my lady and I have been unable to find information on a question - does the wood for the body pieces need to be solid, or could I use edge glued lumber? I’ve been having trouble sourcing solid 12x12 inch maple boards, but I have been able to find an edge glued board at the home depot. Would this work, or would it totally mess with the sound? Also, feel free to give any tips or anything on building one of these things! Thanks in advance y'all :)

Does not need to be solid. I have seen many made of plywood. I think most of the sound will come from the head.

Edge glued is fine. I edge glued floor boards. Worked a treat.
