I dunno if any event(?) in particular led to Al's ^^ posting, but at this point I don't see politics.*
.... maybe a salient feature is whether or not the person with his/her head "among other places" realizes it or not.... and how that realization is then acted upon [i.e. the amazing part].
A few years back a former moderator made no bones about the fact that she didn't associate with, talk to, or even think about people who were appreciably different from her. That's not my approach, but I do tip my toque to her forthrightness.
While my head at times may be "among other places," I figure it's there rather loosely.... I don't put much effort into digging for information, but when it finds me I do look at it.
* = maybe ignorance really is bliss??
And then there's the joke about the guy who, during his colonoscopy, asked the doc if there was evidence of his [patient's] head being, or having been, there. "No." "Would you put that in a note I can show to my wife?"

I'm sure there was. I don't think our lives would be improved by knowing which one.

If...You want to bring it there..You..will..
If not then think about what i have pointed out as me personal observation..
Or..stick your head in the sand..
Funny tho where...your mind went..
Without examples we don't know if people are burying their head in the sand, are mistakenly considered to be burying their head in the sand, are being accused of such a thing by people with ulterior motives. Of course some do bury their head in the sand and it's very obvious. However one thing we do know is that the ostrich does not bury it's head in the sand.

Wrong about which part? Was there no triggering event? Or would my life be better if I knew what it was?
It's NOT about politics!!
It's about RELIGION!!
Anyway, that's MY guess, and I challenge anybody EXCEPT AL to prove me wrong.

Only if you take it that way. Can be science, sociology, etc. I can think of many things that people, and groups choose to ignore. Any of them can turn into politics, just like any other topic, but they don't have to.
Edit to ad: Anytime people put belief, ideology, dogma, or group think ahead of evidence and fact (real fact, based on real evidence, not alternative facts) they are putting their heads in the sand.
Often, when it comes to politics, it's not the sand they are putting their heads in. Severe cases of rectal cranial inversion.

Good point.
So what we're left with is some other ostrichy trait that is political and linked to conspiracy theory.
Do ostriches eat their own droppings?
Do they eat other people's droppings?
Or...do they eat other people's droppings and claim they were their own droppings? If other ostriches are in on it, that's a conspiracy right there.
I think we're getting somewhere...but it could still just be an example of examining your own booger in public.

I've always referred to it as rectocranial envelopment.
