Fiddle question: I am having issues with muddy sound on the G string when in high bass tuning (ADAE). Open low A sounds fine, but any fingers down and the sound is muddy, particularly third finger (D).

Is this a set-up issue (bridge, soundpost) or something structural about my fiddle (bass bar maybe)? Something else?

Strings are new and sound is fine on G in all positions when in standard tuning.

Probably just bad technique. Are you new to fiddle. Intonation is hard. Especially if you have weak hands.

If you have questions that may concern setup it's probably best to take it to a shop to be given a once-over.I wonder if it could be a bow thing.
