Did he just invent a new style of playing? Not trying to be hyperbolic but this could be revolutionary if other people pick it up too.

Seems to be doing a lot of double/drop thumbing, but it looks like he's playing with his index and ring fingers separately to create 3-finger type rolls using downstrokes. Never seen or heard anything like that before.

In 2019 Victor Furtado won Steve Martin's Excellence in Banjo and Bluegrass Award, which came with a $50,000 check from Steve.

Victor's been on Woodsongs Old Time Radio Hour several times.

I'm surprised Victor is not on more people's banjo radar. It's not like he's been under a rock. He's terriffic! Another young person moving the music forward, in my opinion.

Yep. That looks like 3-finger clawhammer. Mark Johnson has been doing this for maybe two decades. I wonder if Furtado learned about it from Johnson?

Parenthetically, Victor's Sister, Gina, is an astounding bluegrass banjo picker.
