[I've watched them removing traps at the end of the season, but never been around for the start.]
As I understand things, "Lobster Trap Christmas trees" aren't exclusive to N.S.
Edit: And a fine looking full moon is out in beautiful west central Man-ee-toe-bah .... but at -30 C. [-40ish w/windchill]. most of my "looking" will be from the doorway.

Well I guess I shouldn't have complained to my wife about being cold walking our dogs in the 40's today! Dang it's too early to be that cold.
It's warming up overnight..... just a few degrees below freezing for the weekend and early part of next week. We manage ... but I tip my toque to those who have to be out and about ... retirement does have some benefits.

I expect [hope?] it's just the timing of the forecast that was off. In general our weather often follows >> 2 days after Edmonton >> one day after Saskatoon.
