Well fellow pickers, I tightened my head up on my 2010 gold star to 91 using a drum dial and actually sounded good. But I noticed a few weeks later that the flange have pulled, (guess I got to much pressure on it). The tone hasn’t changed to my ear anyway, my question is would you change flanges or leave it alone? And would anyone know what size flange would fit. Thanks
I really don't like drum dials, because they seem to encourage a "set solution" to a problem that doesn't exist. I adjust my banjo heads by "ear" and then check with the drum dial so as to have a reference
