What does it sound like?! Do you have a sound sample you can post??
The purpose is explained at https://www.its.caltech.edu/~politzer/resonator/resonator.pdf. On page 3, there are links to four sound samples. Here are the second two, done with a lighter bridge and biscuit to be closer to banjo sound. (I guess they could be even lighter to further cut the sustain.) The actual purpose is to shed light on resonator guitars -- hence, the standard guitar weight bridge and biscuit (bought from Mike Replogle, as was the cone).
Recording is easy. I'm wrestling with the theory part for the cone as a soundboard.

I ask for a sound sample and I get hit with a waterfall of music, and a nice little read, too. Thanks a lot, David! And I don't know why but that little creation of yours has a very familiar sound... hmmm, I wonder why?... LOL
