Hi All,
Looking for any advise for possible lessons here in Ireland. I have messed around trying to learn clean hammer on me own, but have put it down for some time.
I’d like to see if I can get any lessons to try and kickstart myself back into it. I have a Deering 5 string and would love to play a bit of claw hammer, but even cracking into it in general would be brilliant.
I live in Cork so would anyone know someone down this way?
Thanks
Looking through the players on BHO who live and teach in Ireland, the closest that I see, for clawhammer teachers, is in Limerick. You should check this out for yourself.
Bill Whelan is a great player, though in Dublin:

Very late to this, but just thought I’d mention that the Lee Valley String band plays at the corner house on Monday nights. Could be helpful to chat with the banjo player and see if he has any resources for you!
I’m learning Scruggs style myself so I’m not much help in that department. I can’t seem to do a bum ditty if my life depended on it.
