Emil Wulschner was the originator of the Regal brand of 5-String banjos about 1896. Guitars and Mandolins too. Wulschner also established a factory, a music store and an instrument distributorship in Indianapolis during the late 1890's. While doing some research about the Regal brand I came upon the attached article. Thought it was interesting. You be the jusdge.
I'd like to know some specifics; eg. how far from "realistic" the figures were..... "should have known" leaves too much scope for speculation, IMNSHumbleO. In the meantime, here's MY verdict:

The whole thing sounds dubious to me, but I ain't no lawyer (thank God!)
I'm with Owen, but a judge might simply go with rock or scissors because they can do more damage than paper.
I've seen several ads over the years as well as caveats in small print on contracts that state that typos & errors in pricing do not effect the real price of an item.
At my day job we have had major "big box" retailers (which are the worst) hold us to mistakes and typos.
