Anyone know what the number on this rim signifies? It's 821-4. Can't find it on the Gibson serial number reference sheet.
Can't tell much from the picture except that the label is a reproduction.
The rim could have been made any time by anyone.
If the number is authentic, it would be from circa 1936.
When you say reproduction, I take that to mean not placed on the rim by Gibson? Was that sticker used in 36?
The label was neither made nor installed by Gibson.
The font and letter alignment are not correct for an authentic pre-war Gibson label. This indicates that it is a modern era reproduction label, not made by or for the Gibson company.
Mastertone labels were indeed used in 1936, but this one is not from that period.
