This is quite a specific question, For Psigah Possum owners. I have a Walnut Possum. I bought new recently. It has a Renaissance head on it. I am curious as to how it would sound with Fyberskin head. anyone here have that particular set up?
TIA.

Cover most of the back of that Ren head with masking tape and you'll get pretty close to the tone of Fiberskyn.

The truth of the matter is that you won't know how any head will sound on any banjo until you try it, there are just too many other variables. Most opinions on Fyberskin Heads say it tends to thud-dize the tone too much which I tend to agree with. That said at a music camp one of the best banjos I heard was a tubaphone with a Fyber head on it. The Possum with its wood tone rim most likely will not respond well to a Fyber head....but I could be wrong. Especially if you tightened it enough. Let us know what you end up with for our own "edumakation." banjered
