I started off to tab Mike Snider's arrangement from his album "Mike Snider and Friends" (1986), and realized it was just a fancier version of Vic Jordan's arrangement (Banjo Nashville). So, I ended up personalizing the whole thing. Mike's cool licks are there, I just inserted a couple of segues of my own for fun. It's a quick mover in Dm, with the 5th capoed at 7.  The Tabledit file is in the tab archive.

I remember when Vic J. played this tune way before Mike Snider...Who knows who played what first I guess this amounts to. I personally don't hear a lot of difference from Mike's version to Vic's...Jack

Didn't Jim and Jesse bring this to bluegrass after Desi Arnaz's big band brought it from Cuba to the US? Love the tune and your arrangement.

Sounds very nice, indeed.

Like Desi Arnaz once said about how much he enjoyed hearing that song on banjo:

"TOYOTA COROLLA LUMBAGO VICTROLA ADIDAS GRANOLA!!"

Umm, not really.

I got pretty good grades in Hi School, and spoke Spanish to the customers, down on 13th & Oklahoma (in a heavily Hispanic Milwaukee neighborhood) on occasion.

In MY opinion, those words, when spoken aloud, have the roll and rhythm of Spanish, even though IN Spanish, they would be gibberish.

I was just funning Mike. I had Spanish in HS and college both. I can still understand it pretty well... however speaking the language with my eastern KY accent would cause even the most deadpan hispanohablante to combust from laughter.

Great tune and arrangement.

Off topic, but here in Chile I recently had a humorous experience. I ordered Chinese take out from a nearby restaurant and made the realization that someone speaking Spanish with a Chinese accent sounds very funny to my ears. I could barely keep a straight face at the end when they said "Glacias" (Gracias).
