Right Hand Warm-Up Exercise.

The arrows on the tablature indicate the down beat emphasis which gives the exercise a slight lift or bounce.

Jim,

I might be blocking your IP because of bad actors.

Can you email me offline?

Checked my IP, and it's not blacklisted or on any blocked lists.

Edit: Just kicked the original IP and generated a new one.

Unfortunately, same deal.

I ran some traces to your site, and it looks like the point where it's failing is your hosting provider.

Just emailed the details.

I just had a friend check it and it's OK - up and running.

Came through on my iPad lickety split right off the bat.  Thnx for the exercise, Pat. And I'm still doing the Jack LaLanne exercise opening and closing my hands quickly 20x ,,, that one also helps with stamina as those hands/fingers get pretty tired,, sometimes I go for 25 or 30.
Another warmup I do is i-m-i-m-i-t-i-m on strings 2,1,3,1,3,4,3,1

It's up and running, but giving 403 errors.

I can ping patcloud.com (and the IP address assigned) with no issue.

I've been able to reach other sites with no issues.

Your hosting provider should be able to look at their logs and see why it's rejecting (actually, refusing to authorize) requests from the two IP addresses I emailed.

I'm not sure what you're referring to...

Links to a Firefox and a Microsoft Edge screenshot of the 403 error I'm seeing...

As the the links to the screenshots show, it doesn't work on the current versions of Firefox and Microsoft Edge on my laptop.

The 403 errors are coming from Pat's server...for some reason.

No issues with other websites.

Clearly it's working for some.

I've spent enough time troubleshooting it...

I'm out.

I've pretty well gotten used to it over the years.

Sometimes banjo is just plain forbidden.

The banjo gods are not happy.

Love the crack of that archtop!

Before i leave this world id love to some some sort of collaboration between Pat and Bela. A video of them together would be awesome.  They could call it Live From Mt. Olympus

It is odd...

As mentioned above, the error message is generated by Pat's server, not on my computer.

I am able to connect to his site, but not go to any web page.

I may ask my ISP to check their logs, as Pat says there is nothing in his logs.

All other sites work fine.

Jim,
I think I see your problem. Pat's site is on his Front Page and all of the excercises and drills and songs are right there....I'm not sure of the problem you're having...Jack

Jim is correct and I am still looking into it.

My reference to practical jokers was mainly addressed to spammers and hackers.

My site was hacked in 2016 and again in 2018.

I initiated my new site in 2021 and I am still working out all the bugs. I'm now a target because of the previous hacks. When you get hacked these days, your domain name goes on a list and is passed around the dark web where all the paste and copy "script kiddies" brute force you with AI bots a dozen times a day. And they will of course, fail.

My apologies to anyone still having trouble accessing the site.

If you can't access it, I really want to know about it!

Thank you all for the encouragement -

It's actually a 2 step process, Jack.

A web browser connects to a site, and then "requests" a web page.

The server sends a "response".

The response can be the web page you requested.

-  or -

If there is a problem with the web site itself (site down, server too busy), you will get a corresponding  error number such as "404", "500", etc.

- or -

If the web site thinks you are not "authorized" to see that web page, you will get a "403" error.

This is what I'm seeing.

It can be caused by several things.

All of the "standard" checks have been done on my side...Pat is not seeing anything in his logs.

So my next steps would be to -

1. Check with my ISP to see what their logs might contain from the responses they received from Pat's hosting service.

2. Check with Pat's hosting service to see what their logs might contain from requests they received from my ISP.

That way, we're looking for evidence in logs rather than throwing darts hoping to hit something.

I have no issue providing either with my IP address, and the timeframe the issue occurred.

I'm not so much concerned that I couldn't get the video (Pat emailed it to me...thanks).

It may be that this is happening to others trying to access Pat's site...for different resources...having the same issue...and not reporting it.

I used to troubleshoot these types of issues in my 25+ years in IT, so I've seen plenty of weird stuff.

We'll see how it goes.
