For sale is a 1979 Stelling White Star 5-string banjo. With the exception of two small professionally repaired screw holes in the side of the neck, the wood finish is remarkably clean. Stainless steel frets in a synthetic Ebonol fingerboard, a new compensated bone nut, Ren head and a 5/8-inch maple-ebony Sosebee bridge, and new 5-Star tuning pegs with accompanying Schaller geared-5th, all with amber-colored buttons. Comes with its original hard shell case in very good condition.
The former asking price of $2,850 NOW REDUCED TO $2,450! Also, an additional $175 for US Postal Service (USPS) Priority Mail insured usually takes no more than 2 to 4 days depending on where in the contiguous United States it's delivered.
Sorry, NO TRADES. I'm trying to reduce the number of banjos I own.

I’m just nosey
Does this have an ebony board or an ebonol?
This White Star's fingerboard is Ebonol... but this is from one of the "good" batches of Ebonol. I've had this banjo several years and have taken it out in the strong sunlight, where most problems of warping occur, and this fingerboard has remained stable and the expansion even and predictable. As it is, however, I currently have someone in the holding pattern for this banjo, and I'm awaiting a funds transfer as we speak, so this talk of Ebonal might be a moot point.
