I have trouble with arthritis in my fingers and I wondered if a wider string spacing on my clawhammer banjo bridge might help me with getting the chords a little clearer. Does anyone know where to buy a 48 mm string spaced bridge? My current bridge is 45 mm and I think I can get away with a slightly wider bridge.

Look for bridges with "Crowe" spacing which is a little wider than standard. That would probably give you the spacing you are looking for.

Crowe spacing is 44 mm, so this is roughly what you have now. If you want a wider bridge I would expect that any reputed bridge maker will be able to make you a custom spaced one.

If you have an unused bridge somewhere in a scrap box you could try to slightly shave off the top and re-slot it so as to check if it works for you before you order an expensive bridge.
