I have a collection of banjo tailpieces that includes S.S. Stewart Common Sense TPs and some that are SSS copies or variants. One of them is a small version...... I'd like to know if it is the TP that Stewart made for his piccolo banjos. Dimensions of an "Improved" CS TP and the possible piccolo TP in the images.
Thanks in advance for comments.

Sorry, I forgot to use the mm scale.

Hey Marc ...... tnx. Looks like your TP is 1 1/16 in (27.0mm) wide by 7/8" (22.2mm) tall. Mine is closer in size to yours than to the "Improved" CS TP, but not exactly the same.

I would expect these were cast and then hand finished...so none will be exactly alike. Today, you could just print one out...!

Got the calipers out:

Length: 1.034

Width: 1.039

Across the points: 0.87

Bar width: 0.117

Thickness at bar: 0.125

Thickness at bolt hole: 0.076

Stop height: 0.400

Stop width: 0.348
