I found this banjo on a Swedish auction site. The description mentions no usefully information about the brand or maker. The words "Head Master" is written on the head, and a blue-ish symbol on the headstock.

Does anyone recognize the maker?

Thank you!

Probably UK maker John Grey.

What Steve said. I've only seen that Headmster brand head on John Greys of the 50's to 60's. I think it may have been their house brand.

Ditto. The blue plaque on the headstock indicates a manufacture date post WWII. john Grey was not a maker, but merely a brand name. John Grey & Sons Ltd. was a subsidiary company of Barnett Samuel & Sons, later acquired by Rose, Morris & Co. Ltd.
