Once again, an e-mail from Who's Who, informing me that I have been nominated for inclusion.
Before I submit any information, I must know who nominated me.
If, however, nobody nominated me, then our relationship began with a lie, and you are nominated to drop dead so fast that, when you hit the sidewalk, you also break your arm.
The "..also break your arm" was from (if I remember correctly) Danny Thomas, describing how the old women in his neighborhood could cast curses of amazing originality and inventiveness.
I wonder if Who's will even bother to respond.
I get those on occasion. We must be special right Mike?
If they claim that I nominated you, and you nominated me, then what?I.
Ha! I remember receiving written and sent via USPS inviting me to have my name (and a short bio + professional achievements) included in their next addition for some # of $$$ back when I became an engineer with GTE.
Vanity publications are very persistent, as I was to receive 2 or 3 copies of the completed edition.
(Got to thinking - gosh! that must have been almost 50 years ago!)
Recently I get messages from Amazon telling me that the 50 inch TV I ordered is being delivered to a stranger in Arizona. Not only did it cost me nothing but I will get the credit for donating it to a stranger in another country.
"Well, I WAS, but not in 2019!"
i was nominated to wash all the police cars one year,,,, after halloween when we were caught throwing old eggs at one.... does that count ?
Our family (that is, Dad & Mom) were once in the Social Register. We didn't even own our own home. Maybe a "compliment" from the CEO of Dad's company? Anyway, it was good for a laugh.
I won't get into Who's Who, but maybe into He's WHAT?!!

I used to get those in pre-internet days via snail mail. You could send your info for free, so I did one year—earning more than a year’s worth of bulk-mail offers to buy a copy. I ignored them, and eventually they stopped. So, finally, did
the offers to publish an entry. Strangely, I have never received any by email.
