I dont wish to speak too soon but, has anybody else logged on to find that the irritating ads have gone ? No more having to click on the small cross to read content, are they gone for good or is it just a fluke and we shall see them return soon ?

I haven't seen any, but I use adblocker plus. Maybe that eliminates them. adblockplus.org/adblock-plus-chrome
I'm not sure about what ads are being referred to, here, maybe because of computer settings or spam blocking programs.
However, it must be pointed out that although almost every ad is disgusting, ad revenue is probably needed to help pay for this website.

I was one who complained when they appeared some months ago. At that time, they didn't have the "X" for closing or dismissing, so the ad blocked access to content in the lowest right corner. Eric responded by giving them the dismissal X.
As I write, I'm looking at an ad.

Well I sure wasn't holding my breath. The ads did vanish for a few hours but back again as I figured they would. If I use Firefox privacy mode they are gone.
There is no way this website is not profitable. Of course it's profitable. These ads are just mining for more, that's all. There can never be enough.
In any event, resistance is futile.

This is the way, but use 'ublock origin' instead.
Adblock plus sold out and started selling ads

My post above was serious....not sarcastic.....I have NEVER seen a pop-ad on BanjoHangout.
Then again, I have never, ever, never "logged off" of BanjoHangout since I joined....I have an icon (I think thats what it's called) that I tap on when i want to view BHO, and i have never entered a password since the first time i joined...truth be known, i do not even remember my password after 12-13 years on the 'Hangout !
Maybe it's logging in or off that allows the ads to appear.....i don't know....this is the only forum or "social media" site that I've ever joined or been on, and I'm not real computer "savvy", overall.

I’ve never logged in on anything other than an iPad. Don’t have that problem. Maybe a setting or something. Or maybe an iPad thing.

I see no ads. It always surprises me what people put up with when I open internet sites in Chorme. I'm sure Chrome has ad blockers to.
