Does anyone know the maker of Earl’s father’s banjo that appears on page 9 of the Scruggs banjo book? It looks like it may be a Buckbee but that’s just my uneducated guess.

Which 'Scruggs' book are you referring to, "Earl Scruggs and The 5String Banjo"?? If so I have my 1960 -70s copy and on page 9 there is only a photo of Joel Sweeny.

It is on page 9 in the "Revised and Enhanced Edition" from 2005. Here's a picture I took along with what Earl says/writes. Would be interesting if someone could give more information about this banjo!

(P.S. I believe that some of the content in the original edition is superior/more informative in some ways, it's worth comparing the two books if you are interested, but that's off topic.)
