Michael, I believe what you need is a piezoelectric pickup, sometimes just called a piezo. This means the pickup works a bit like a microphone and changes vibrations into an electronic signal. I thinks the Fishman is a magnetic pickup; the vibrations are transduced magnetically, which means they won't work with Nylon strings.
The emg is magnetic but it uses a small metal shim to make the pickup sense the vibrations. Half and half that one! It will work with Nylon strings I think, but my knowledge of pickups is from electronics, not from using either pickup that you mention.

You've got me there Steve, I thought it was a regular magnetic pick up, but if it works as you say it should be fine.
