last week I was freezing my tutu off...Friday with my sons help we scrambles to put the window A/C s in for Saturdays 95 degree onslaught temperatures.....My hopes amd prayers are for someday to have winter ease into spring before summer.........where has spring gone?
Remember the springs when you ran around in the soft cool turf on your lawn in your bare feet playing foot ball with the neighborhood kids....and fishing down at the ol fishing hole.....not a care in the world...free as the mild spring breeze........???????

The science suggests spring is occurring earlier and may cause drier, hotter summers in the northern hemisphere:

sciencenews.org/article/climat...r-summers

I've noticed here that what was always late winter i.e. late February/early March has been very mild. This year I can't recall even a single frost.

A cooler than normal spring here in SW Alberta,, the snowpack in the mountains has hardly melted yet. Hope it doesn’t get too hot too quick.

I also read that the Christchurch earthquake in New Zealand did the same. Moved the axis of the Earth. Now I’m no rocket scientist but I do know by experience that the closer you get to a heat source the warmer you become. And by that same synopsis the further you are from that same heat source....

A 4 inch axis shift causes warmer temps from a sun 92 million miles away?

Yes after 11 years it's bound to have some affect. Here's an experiment fill a container up with water and insert needles that are constantly heated. What will happen over time to that water? It will eventually warm up but like a lake or ocean the warm water comes to the top and the cool water sinks. Now add more heat sources to that water. Over time the water will reach the temperature of the object heating it.  You are aware of the radiated heat coming from microwave towers and cell phone towers? Add the heat radiated back into our atmosphere from all the concrete and asphalt laid. Now add to that heat from the exchange of the outside units from AC. Don't forget all those ships going back and forth 24/7 cooling their engines with ocean water. Sooner or later things will get warmer. Yes I believe in global warming but what can be done about it? Well you can start with removing abandoned buildings and their adjoining parking lots. Inner city's building that are in need of repair tear them down. But that causes another problem what to do with the possibility of asbestos in these buildings. Maybe the sun will go through a solar minimal and things will cool but the foliage that like warmer climate what happens to them. We are just going to have to adapt to the warmer temps unless there is another place to live that is static maybe the moon and create a enviroment that is suitable and controllable.

Giving up is a rather negative approach.Irresponsible, too Mr. Noname.

Mr. Noname? you have a problem with my screen name?
What are you doing to contribute to the slowing down of this heat made by man? And it’s not giving up it’s coming to realization that if you like your cellphone like your air conditioner like the car you drive and the paved streets and the brick and mortar stores and the goods that come in container ships and everything that man has made then you will have to live with the detrimental effects of production of these commodities. Are you willing to go back to living like our Native Americans did before modern times.

I have no problem making a life from my 33 acres of Maine woods and stonewalls.Nice dirt here, too. It was a chicken farm a couple hundred years ago.
I know how to eat from the ocean and build a log cabin heated by the wood on this land.

I would have no trouble living right here just like my Indian ancestors.
I'm purchasing a hybrid Maverick truck because of my care for what I can do to help OUR planet.I plan on trading the Maverick in a couple of years for a fully electric model.

I don't own a cell phone because I don't know how to run one.

What are you doing to help?

Non-sequitur. No intelligent body is remotely suggesting that extreme as necessary or desirable.

Silly non-sequiturs are introduced as a 'scare' tactic to both ridicule and dismiss what science actually advises as practical and effective.

Those practical and effective solutions are essentially a combination of education, conserving and protecting natural resources and intelligent use of cutting-edge technology.

Then there is the opposite happening in other areas. May 1st is usually a confirmation of spring. This year our cold wet weather has dominated until last week [May 20] . For this long 3 day weekend [Victoria day] we are actually seeing spring weather. Today's high is 20*C which will give us 70*F. The coming days until June will give us time to recover from our sunstroke . Rain is predicted from May 24 to June 3rd. Other areas of B.C. are predicting forest fire hazards . On May 1st our annual lawn watering restrictions came into effect . We can only water our lawns for 2 days a week. They forgot to tell that to the weather office.

I’m not trying to “Extreme non-secitur" anyone it’s the facts if you like your life style then you will accept the conditions that it takes to maintain that life style. If you don’t like the enviroment/ life style then you will find ways to change and sometimes it takes drastic changes to achieve the life style you/anyone maybe looking for.

I wouldn't call saving the planet a life-style as if it were a choice of how to live.
There's only one way to live and that is to protect our dear planet Earth.

Claiming that we would need to revert to iron-age societies to avert climate change absolutely IS a non-sequitur. Nothing else.

We do need to drastically change the way we currently live. Education and intelligently applied technology will provide solutions; not ridicule and the mentality of a Pol Pot.

What does having a lobster boat have to do with anything?

Farmers have a tractor...so what?

I agree that it isn't a non-sequitur ... it's unadulterated poppycock. Shifting from fossil fuel to nuclear and solar will mitigate, if not eliminate, the problem, and does not require a transition back to the stone age.

If I recall previous exchanges with other posters. You practice what you have read? Oh I see your sock puppet account showed up.
