Would you rather to be in charge of your own money ...
Or.. would you like a money system..
Where your money will be spent for you by your behaviour..?
Meaning if you are not a good DooBee..as deamed by some athouraty..
Your spending will be issued to you but not your decision..
Personaly..I would like to
decide what to do with me own money..
But I have heard folks Express that people are to stupid to use it correctly.. n it should be handeled..for them...
What say you on this question...?
I live in a society with a police force, a justice system, defence, a health system, an education system, roads and public transport systems, open and fair elections and 100 other things (care for the elderly, weather forecasts, coastguards, fisheries protection, a diplomatic service, public parks, libraries, consumer protection, vaccination programs.....) that I'd miss if they weren't there. Some of it I don't use. But I'm happy to live in a society where it's available to others, even though I've had a successful career in a well paying area and have probably put in more than I'll take out.
Not sure how any of that would happen if I got to keep all of "my" money.
Of course there are some things that I pay for that I don't want and don't think we need. But I'm in the minority on those and I live in a democracy so am prepared to suck it up for the general benefit.
Everybody has a list of things they don't want to be covered by taxation and things they do want to be covered. Nobody's list is the same as any other.
Maybe the OP will actually let us know this time where he stands on the political issue he has raised ?
What’s political about wanting to have control of your own “stuff”? ( If I could make that question Mark bigger I would.) I personally have a big problem with someone who couldn't give a rat’s ass about me telling me what I can and can not do with my “stuff” It must be my age the older I get the madder I get. Stay off my lawn!

Fwiw, I take "as deemed by some authority" to be a political authority, but the question is so open-ended that with my limited knowledge/ability the best I can say is "I dunno." Ditto for "...by your behavior."
Mr. Ranch, within your typing, highlight any part of the your [rich?] text, click on "size" in the upper left corner, select the size you want ? ? ? ?, and Bob's yer uncle.

A social credit score systum..
I was thinking Central Bank systum..
Thos who run the credit cards..
Thanks Fig. My thinking is that the credit card companies are [will be??] operating within some sort of framework [i.e. legal, political?]. A cursory search for "social credit system" leads to stuff about what's going on in China. I say "no" to that .... while acknowledging that we have similar stuff going on right here in good ol' Canada .... for me recently highlighted by the b.s. surrounding one of the topics we shan't mention and the convoy in Ottawa.

Thus far only you are trying to make this a political thread...
I read your OP and thought this is either inheritenly political or asks an obscure non real world question or are you saying there out to get my money?
That's a good question Fig. I know people who are concerned that when their children inherit their money that they will not be able to handle it. Therefore they set up trusts so that the money will be doled out at intervals and won't be spent all at once .... or over a short period ..... or won't be taken by someone with unscrupulous designs. Of course they money was the parents, not the child's, but it is still within the same family and the person that earned it says what is going to be done with it. In a way, that is what Social Security does ...... except we are getting back out own money. At least we are getting it back ..... although I will never get back what I paid in.

Not really..
I am saying that I am more than capable to handle me finances fer meself..
Taxes may be part of that..
For example..if I know that 10% of me earned money goes to services..
The rest is mine...
N I would decide just where that money goes..
almost all of al's "curiosity" posts are nearly identical to the topics my radical far right co-worker rants about. they must be visiting/listening to the same sources because both discuss/talk about the same subjects at virtually the same time/days.
its not a coincidence.
i like ya fig, but you play coy a little too much with these type of posts

The rest is yours. Who is telling you otherwise? Who is telling you must use some of your money to buy 50 cans of baked beans?

Funny but I think it's the other way around the Baked Bean industry is telling you to invest your money in paper products.
I think the CEO of one company sits on the board of directors of the other. I don't know if it's a conflict of interest but they got you coming and a going.

If no one is controling your money beyond taxes what is the point of the question?
Years ago..
For example..
Ebay would let ya sell reloading componants..
They ..as a privet company..
Decided.. it will not be allowed...
Fair nuff I spose..
Now let's spose..
A credit card company decides..what you can ..or can not buy..using thier card...
How would you like that....?

If you buy stuff with a credit card you're not using your money. It's paid for by the credit card company and you pay them back later with or without interest. So you actually want to control how others spend their money after all.
